The Studio Women of Business

Jennifer Turner Long Owner, The Studio

Inception: In 2004, Jennifer Turner Long began to pur-sue her lifelong dream of creating a dance studio that concentrated on developing dancers holistically as well as technically. Since that time The Studio has grown to offer a performing ballet company, community performing groups, competition teams, leadership organizations and a myriad of classes. Dancers range from ages 2-60+.

In Service: In 2011, The Studio launched its first year-long service project by supporting the American Literacy Corporation. Other projects have included the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (US Army), the Ronald McDonald House, Leg Up Farm, New Hope Ministries, and the Central PA Food Bank. The Studio has cumulatively donated over $150,000.

Growing Young Women Leaders: In 2014, The Studio was selected to become a chapter of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. In 2017, they began the Raising the Barre leadership organization. In addition to dance, both groups require service and academic excellence. Raising the Barre equips dancers to generate funds for their own college scholarships. Both of these organizations give middle and high school dancers experiences that allow them to grow in maturity and responsibility.

Celebrating 15 Years: “We have been blessed with an amazing community. We love these kids! And I think our growth reflects our ability to find that perfect balance of challenge and support for each dancer,” says Jennifer. “The Studio is a safe space where kids come to dance, to grow, and to thrive.”
