It’s all about people for Kim Parker, Branch Manager at Milestone Staffing Services, Inc.

The staffing agency provides CNA’s, LPN’s, and RN’s for nursing; OT, PT and RT’s for therapies. “We are not focused on one particular industry, we welcome all of them,” says Kim. She’s been with the company for 16 years and the manager for 14.

“Each day a facility reaches out for staffing, it is a daily challenge in that someone’s mother, father, sister, or brother needs care,” explains Kim. “Therefore, we want to ensure that we can meet the expectation we provide coverage for. We have a great team with many teammates having over a decade of staffing service with us. That tenure and knowledge is up for any challenge presented AND conquered.” Recently the agency expanded adding travel nursing and a Dallas per diem office, both managed and staffed by the Harrisburg office and Kim.

“We meet staffing needs across various types of facilities, regardless of size and amount of need,” explains Kim. “Our long-term presence in the community has been built on trust and commitment served by our long-term employees. We are able to provide services 24 hours a day/seven days per week, that is what sets us aside. When you call at 1:00 am your greeted with a live person ready and willing to provide the coverage that is needed.”

With the agency being under the umbrella of HRC Manor Care Inc., they can participate in the HRC Manorcare Gives program, which supports the community in a multi-faceted philanthropic initiative. The Employee Volunteer Grant Program, Employee Matching Gift Program and Community Matters event support programs make giving more personal. “The Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund relieves the financial pressures experienced by families who are coping with terminal illness and its aftermath. The Hug Fund is a partnership of employees helping employees who have an urgent financial need.”

For Kim, care is very personal. Her mother was stricken with MS at a very young age and Kim says her mother never complained, working until she couldn’t possibly do another day. She also takes inspiration from her other family members. “My sister, she has two Master’s degrees, a family, a great job, and is well respected among her peers, and management. I hope to measure up and be as respected in my field.”

For Kim, with her heart in her work, she’s surely already there. “I enjoy meeting, hiring, meeting the needs of clients
