The show highlights 1,200 of the best horses and riders in ten days of virtually nonstop competition. The show awards eleven national championships and more than $350,000 in prize money. The show runs from October 11th to 20th and features unparalleled competition, family activities, boutique shopping, and the opportunity to watch the very best in equestrian sports in action.
A Charitable Background
The PA National Horse Show is about more than its riders and horses, it’s also about charity. Since its inception in 1945, the event has raised $1.5 million for youth programs through the Harrisburg Kiwanis Youth Foundation and the Pennsylvania National Horse Show Foundation.
More than Just a Spectator Event
When you think of a horse show, most think of sitting in the grandstands, watching the equestrian action, but there is so much more. There is literally something for everyone and every age, male and female.
The event attracts a variety of people with over 15,000 people typically attending the event, and almost 1 million viewers watching via live stream. In addition, there are happy hours, food concessions, a silent auction, free pony rides, storytelling and a parade of hounds.
So grab a friend and ride on over to one of the most spectacular events in Harrisburg. This year is your year to come and enjoy all that the PA National Horse Show has to offer!
