After a year of closure spawned speculation and protest, the Spring Creek Golf Course in Hershey reopens to the public Thursday.

During the 2020 closure, the golf course — now owned by the Hershey Trust — had fairway and green approach reclamation completed on nearly every hole on the course. According to Trust officials, throughout the pandemic, golf course officials continuously evaluated the circumstances, weighing logistics of health and safety enhancements with anticipated business volume.

The course, which annually averages more than 13,000 rounds of golf played, will offer a Tuesday morning Senior Men’s League, a Wednesday evening 2-Person Scramble League, and a Thursday evening Ladies’ League this season along with foot golf, a combination of soccer and golf, which has been popular for families. A decision about a junior program will be decided by early May. Reduced rates are offered Wednesdays, and the course is open to the public.

The 9-hole, par 33 course was designed in 1932 and is a beginner friendly spot to golf. Tee times can be booked anytime by calling Spring Creek Golf Shop at 717-533-2847.
