MARKET SQUARE SINGERS IN CONCERT

Arts on the Square, a series of musical and artistic events, will sponsor a concert of sacred music by the Market Square Singers at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral, 221 N. Front Street, at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23. Made up of choir members and soloists from the Harrisburg region, the Market Square Singers are directed by Tyler A. Canonico, Minister of Music at historic Market Square Presbyterian Church.

Among the works to be performed are “Let All the People Praise Thee, O God” by William Mathias; “Locus Iste” by Anton Bruckner; “Agneau de Dieu” by Rupert Lang; and Moses Hogan’s “My Soul’s Been Anchored in the Lord.”

Jordan R. Markham, Director of Music Ministry at Wesley U.M. Church, Bloomsburg, will serve as assistant director, and Peter Yardley-Jones, Director of Music at the Swiss Church, Covent Garden, London, will be organist.

A free-will offering will be received to support the programming of Arts on the Square.
Free parking is available in the Bar Association lot and garage next to the Cathedral, accessed from River Street between Cranberry and Locust streets.

The Market Square Singers will depart the following day on a seven-day tour of performances in the Province of Québec, Canada, appearing at the Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal and Christ Church Cathedral in Montréal; the Shrine of Sainte-Anne in Beaupré; and the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Québec City.
