“HERstory” – A Night of Poetry, Music & More!

May 8 @ 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

$10

Central Penn College will host “HERstory and Jazz Collective: Bridges of Love and Tragedy”–– an innovative production that features a mix of spoken-word poetry and live music on Wednesday, May 8.

Award-winning poet and Central Penn College Professor Maria James-Thiaw will provide the verbal fireworks, showcasing new poems that weave a tale of love, tragedy and hope.

She will be backed by a jazz ensemble led by drummer Mark Hunsberger, who’s an adjunct professor at the college and director of education for the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra.

Attendees can enjoy refreshments, including mocktails, with the proceeds benefitting the college’s drama club. General admission is $10; for students, it’s $3. Tickets can be purchased online at: https://her-story-jazz.eventbrite.com.
